TALOS in Oviedo: Teaching Environment and Environmental Sustainability in the Third Millennium
Dr Maria Papadopoulou, Director of the TALOS Lab at the University of Crete, is participating in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Teaching Environment and Environmental Sustainability in the Third Millennium”, organized by the University of Oviedo, Spain, under the auspices of the INGENIUM Alliance.
The initiative convenes academic peers from partner institutions across Greece, Romania, Germany, and Italy to examine contemporary pedagogical approaches to sustainability and environmental education. Following initial virtual sessions conducted on 10–11 September 2026, the cohort will convene on-site in Oviedo from 22 to 26 September 2026 to engage in lectures, collaborative workshops, and fieldwork.
Centering on instructional innovation, virtual learning environments, and the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in higher education, the programme invites participants to exchange pedagogical practices and co-create joint educational activities. The full curriculum accounts for 3 ECTS credits, encompassing individual study and course preparation.
Through Dr Papadopoulou’s involvement, TALOS aligns its research in AI for Social Sciences and Humanities (AI4SSH) with broader dialogues on environmental sustainability, fostering deeper interdisciplinary cooperation across the INGENIUM network.
