
Join TALOS: Two Postdoctoral Positions Now Open at the University of Crete!
The TALOS – AI4SSH project at the University of Crete has launched a new call for two postdoctoral positions, offering an excellent opportunity for researchers who want to work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Digital Humanities, and Cultural Heritage. The positions are based at the University of Crete in Rethymno and are part of the TALOS ERA Chair project, which is building a hub of excellence in AI for the Social Sciences and the Humanities through interdisciplinary and collaborative research. The selected postdoctoral researchers will contribute across the project’s main work packages, with involvement in research, software development, training, open datasets, standards for SSH, and dissemination activities.

The call is addressed to candidates with a PhD in Computational Linguistics, Digital Humanities, Computer Science, or Artificial Intelligence with applications in Digital Humanities or Cultural Heritage. Applicants should also hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Philology, Linguistics, Computer Science, Information Science, or Digital Humanities, and demonstrate excellent knowledge of English (C2). Publications in Computational Linguistics or Digital Humanities, as well as experience with web technologies, will be especially valued.
These positions offer the chance to join an active international research environment and contribute to current work on semantic annotation, digital cultural heritage, corpus analysis, digital education, HAI-NLP software for SSH, and FAIR data standards. They are especially well suited to researchers with a strong interdisciplinary profile and an interest in shaping the future of AI applications in the humanities and social sciences.
