TALOS Visit to Stanford University: Discussions on AI in Education
Professor Eleni Katsarou and Dr Konstantinos Sipitanos visited the Stanford Graduate School of Education on 10–11 December 2025, hosted by Dr Víctor R. Lee and Christine Bywater. During the visit, they presented their research on Artificial Intelligence in Education and engaged in discussions with members of Stanford GSE, CSET, the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, and the DISTAL Lab. The meetings established groundwork for potential future collaboration between TALOS AI4SSH and Stanford University in the area of AI in education.

Dr Maria Papadopoulou, Director of the TALOS Lab, discussed Artificial Intelligence and its impact on human thinking, learning, and ethics in a radio interview on Dialogues with Antonis Vamiedakis, highlighting the role of the Humanities in a digital world.
TALOS Research Visit to Athens: Rafail Giannadakis at NTUA and GlossAPI
Rafail Giannadakis represented TALOS AI4SSH during a two-day research visit to Athens, invited by the λ-Form Group at NTUA and the GlossAPI team of GFOSS. His talks addressed ontological and terminological modelling for ancient world studies and philosophical questions in Plato’s Republic, strengthening links between TALOS, NTUA, and GFOSS.
TALOS Visit to California State University, East Bay: Exploring Collaborations in AI Literacy and Educational Technology
Professor Eleni Katsarou and Dr Konstantinos Sipitanos represented the TALOS Lab during a two-day visit to California State University, East Bay, hosted by Associate Professor Earl Aguilera. They presented research on AI literacy for future teachers and NLP-based curriculum analysis, opening the way for joint projects and a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding.
TALOS at the 75th Annual Conference of the Literacy Research Association: Prof. Eleni Katsarou on AI-Powered Curriculum Analysis
Professor Eleni Katsarou represented TALOS AI4SSH at the 75th Annual Conference of the Literacy Research Association in Las Vegas, presenting AI-powered methods for analysing and redesigning L1 curricula. Her contribution showcased how NLP and digital tools can support evidence-based reform and strengthen literacy education.
Call for Papers: SA4AW 2026 – Semantic Annotation for the Ancient World International Conference | Hybrid, May 7-8!
SA4AW 2026 (7–8 May 2026, Rethymno & online) launches its call for papers, inviting abstracts (max 1,000 words) on semantic annotation in dialogue with hybrid AI, LLMs, deep learning, and knowledge graphs for the ancient world and cultural heritage. Submissions are double-blind reviewed via EasyChair, with accepted papers invited to a post-conference edited volume.

Prof. Christophe Roche, ERA Chair Holder of TALOS–AI4SSH, will deliver an invited lecture titled “Validation of Terminology: The Contribution of Formal Approaches” at Al Wasl University’s 4th International Conference on Graduate Studies and Scientific Research (19–20 November 2025, Dubai), discussing how ontology-based methods support reliable, interoperable terminology in an AI-driven research landscape.

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou, Director of the TALOS Lab, will deliver an online talk in the Joint Seminar Series in Translational and Clinical Medicine (UoC Medical School–IMBB-FORTH–UCRC) on 19 November 2025 (15:00–16:00 EEST), presenting TALOS AI4SSH work on terminology and ontologies, knowledge graphs and FAIR data, NLP for Greek, cultural-heritage applications, and AI literacy in education.
