This anniversary edition marks twenty years of TOTh, the longest-running international conference devoted to terminology. Alongside the conference sessions, the programme will open on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (UTC+2) with the opening talk “On the 20th Anniversary of the TOTh Conference” by Dr. Danielle Candel, CNRS group HTL (Histoire des théories linguistiques), Université Paris Cité, France. Her lecture will reflect on the history of TOTh, the development of ontology and ontoterminology, and the evolving links between language, knowledge, terminology, and artificial intelligence.

The Book of Abstracts is a useful entry point to this year’s programme, which brings together work on terminology, ontology, AI, language resources, and knowledge engineering. It is also worth noting that the two-day training “Bringing Artificial Intelligence to Terminology: A Step-by-Step Project Approach” will take place before the conference, on 2–3 June 2026. The training is led by Dr Silvia Piccini (Italian National Research Council), Prof. Christophe Roche (University of Crete and Université Savoie Mont Blanc), and Asst. Prof. Maria Papadopoulou (University of Crete).

Registration remains open for both the training and the conference.
