
TALOS participation in the 6th International Scientific Conference of the Regional Directorate of Education of Crete
Earlier this month, TALOS took part in the 6th International Scientific Conference of the Regional Directorate of Education of Crete, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence: The Future of Learning in the Digital Era. Implications, Challenges, and Prospects for Education.” The conference was held in Heraklion, Crete, from 13 to 15 March 2026, and brought together educators, researchers, and academic institutions to discuss the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence, emotional intelligence, and education.

As part of the conference programme, Prof. Eleni Katsarou, Professor, Department of Primary Education, University of Crete, and Member of the TALOS Steering Committee, delivered the keynote speech “Teaching and learning during the AI era: challenges and perspectives,” while Evangelos Katis, PhD candidate, represented TALOS with his presentation “AI Literacy Imperative: Empowering Educators in the Digital Era,” highlighting the urgent need for AI literacy and sustained professional development to support the ethical and effective integration of AI in education.
The conference theme is closely aligned with TALOS’s broader interest in the role of artificial intelligence in education and society. Through their participation, TALOS members contributed to current discussions on pedagogy, digital transformation, and the skills needed to navigate the educational landscape of the AI era.
