
Dr. Maria Papadopoulou Joins the OPERAS Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group
The TALOS Lab is proud to announce that our Director, Dr. Maria Papadopoulou, has been appointed to the OPERAS Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group (AI SIG).
The OPERAS AI SIG provides a dedicated European forum to promote the responsible, ethical, and transparent use of AI in scholarly communication. The group focuses on aligning practices around Large Language Models, metadata enrichment, and AI-driven content discovery while ensuring strict compliance with Open Science principles.
As Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities and Classics at the University of Crete, Dr. Papadopoulou brings extensive expertise in knowledge representation, ontologies, and semantic technologies to the group. Her participation will help facilitate the vital dialogue between computational development and traditional scholarly practice, ensuring that emerging AI infrastructures genuinely serve the needs of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) researchers.
