Dr. Maria Papadopoulou, Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities and Classics, University of Crete, and Director of the TALOS Lab, participated in the Online Academic Exchange Event between the College of Foreign Languages, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the University of Crete, which took place online on May 5, 2026.

As part of the programme, she delivered the presentation “From Nanjing to Rethymno: AI, Philology, and Cross-Cultural Knowledge” during the third academic session of the event. Her participation contributed to a wider exchange on digital methods, interdisciplinary, and cross-cultural research between the two institutions and civilizations.

The event brought together scholars from the University of Crete and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics for a series of presentations and discussions held online via Zoom. Dr. Papadopoulou’s contribution highlighted the relevance of AI and philological research within an international and cross-cultural academic context.
