TALOS Lab to Coordinate the European Project Teachers’ Academy for AI Literacy

TALOS Lab is proud to take part in the Teachers’ Academy for AI Literacy, a €1.5M Erasmus+ project uniting 14 partners from 7 European countries. The initiative aims to equip teachers with the knowledge and critical skills to engage with AI in education—not only on a technical level but also with attention to ethical, social, and humanistic dimensions. By fostering collaboration and developing innovative training programs, the Academy seeks to ensure that AI is used inclusively and responsibly, bridging digital divides and strengthening the digital transformation of education across Europe.

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou Awarded Top UoC Funding for PhiloGraphia Project

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou, Director of the TALOS Lab, achieved outstanding success as her project PhiloGraphia received the top grade of 100/100 and was selected for funding by the UoC Research Committee. The project will build a knowledge graph from Diogenes Laertius’ Lives of Eminent Philosophers, offering new digital pathways to explore ancient wisdom and the evolution of philosophical thought.

Celebrating the Successful Closing of the TALOS Summer School 2025

The TALOS Summer School 2025 successfully concluded in Rethymno, bringing together 25 talented students to explore Artificial Intelligence in the social sciences and humanities. Over eight days, participants engaged in lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative projects, culminating in a closing ceremony and diploma award. The TALOS team will soon share all training materials online for wider access.

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou Featured in InfoCom’s SmartTalks on AI and the Humanities

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou, Director of the TALOS-AI4SSH Lab, was featured in InfoCom’s SmartTalks, a long-standing interview series that hosts key voices from technology, telecoms, and innovation. In her talk, she introduced the mission of TALOS, emphasizing the role of explainable, transparent, interdisciplinary, and impactful AI in advancing research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as in shaping new approaches to cultural heritage.
