Rafail Giannadakis at the Erasmus+ Staff Week organised by the international offices of the Universities of Crete and Piraeus
During the last week of May 2026, Rafail Giannadakis, Research Assistant at the TALOS Lab, participated in the 3rd Erasmus+ Staff Week (KA131) and 5th International Staff Week, held at the University of Crete from 25 to 29 May 2026. The event was organized by the International Relations Department of the University of Crete and, for the KA171 strand, co-hosted in collaboration with the International and Public Relations Department of the University of Piraeus and the International Mobility Group.
The five-day programme focused on digital transformation, environment and climate change, and education, bringing together academic and administrative staff from higher education institutions in a setting designed for professional development, knowledge exchange, and international networking. Through presentations, workshops, and collaborative discussions, the staff week created a valuable space for reflection on current challenges and opportunities in higher education.
As part of the programme, Rafail Giannadakis delivered the talk “Digital Transformation in Education and Research: The TALOS – AI4SSH Initiative” on 27 May 2026. His presentation introduced the TALOS initiative and highlighted its role in connecting artificial intelligence, education, and research in the humanities and social sciences. It also offered an opportunity to present TALOS within a broader international discussion on digital innovation in university environments.
TALOS’s participation in the staff week was especially meaningful because of the discussions that followed and the wider exchange of ideas throughout the event. Bringing together participants from different academic, professional, and cultural backgrounds, the programme offered a productive setting for thinking about how digital transformation can be approached in collaborative, inclusive, and sustainable ways across higher education institutions.
