TOTh 2023–2024 Proceedings Now Available in Open Access!
The TOTh Conference Proceedings for 2023 and 2024 are now available in open access. TOTh (Terminology & Ontology: Theories and Applications), organised by the TALOS project, brings together researchers and professionals working on language and knowledge engineering. The volumes include peer-reviewed papers and posters on terminology, ontology, knowledge graphs, AI and NLP, along with contributions by TALOS members.

SA4AW 2026 (7–8 May 2026, Rethymno & online) issues its final call for papers, inviting abstracts (max 1,000 words) on semantic annotation in dialogue with hybrid AI, LLMs, deep learning, and knowledge graphs for the ancient world and cultural heritage. Submissions are double-blind reviewed via EasyChair, with accepted papers invited to a post-conference edited volume.

TOTh 2026 will take place on 4–5 June 2026 at Université Savoie Mont-Blanc (Chambéry, France), with onsite and online participation.

Professor Eleni Katsarou represented TALOS AI4SSH at the 75th Annual Conference of the Literacy Research Association in Las Vegas, presenting AI-powered methods for analysing and redesigning L1 curricula. Her contribution showcased how NLP and digital tools can support evidence-based reform and strengthen literacy education.

Prof. Christophe Roche’s Invited Lecture on Terminology Validation and AI at Al Wasl University
Prof. Christophe Roche, ERA Chair Holder of TALOS–AI4SSH, will deliver an invited lecture titled “Validation of Terminology: The Contribution of Formal Approaches” at Al Wasl University’s 4th International Conference on Graduate Studies and Scientific Research (19–20 November 2025, Dubai), discussing how ontology-based methods support reliable, interoperable terminology in an AI-driven research landscape.
TALOS at the 13th National Student Conference on Archaeology: Antonia Lourentzaki on Göbekli Tepe Reliefs
TALOS Research Assistant Antonia Lourentzaki presented at the 13th National Student Conference on Archaeology, showcasing an ontology-based, AI-supported study of Göbekli Tepe reliefs and their violent animal imagery; the constructive feedback she received will guide the next steps of the TALOS knowledge graph.
TALOS at the 15th Conference on Hellenic Language & Terminology (ELETO): Dr. Maria Papadopoulou on AI & Terminology
TALOS Lab announces the participation of Dr. Maria Papadopoulou in the 15th Conference “Hellenic Language & Terminology” (ELETO)—co-organized with NKUA’s Department of French Language & Literature and the Technical Chamber of Greece—held 6–8 November 2025 in Athens. She will join the round table “Artificial Intelligence and Terminology,” presenting TALOS’s ISO/TC 37–aligned work on terminology, ontologies, and knowledge graphs for cultural heritage.
TALOS PhD Researcher Fotini Koidaki Presents at the 1st University of Crete Conference of MA and PhD Students in Modern Greek Philology
TALOS PhD Candidate Fotini Koidaki (RT3) participated in the 1st Conference of MA and PhD Students in Modern Greek Philology at the University of Crete. Her presentation introduced a computational framework for studying 19th-century Ionian prose, applying AI-based text analysis and Digital Humanities methods to explore literary patterns and cultural connections.
