The TALOS Lab is pleased to announce that Professor Eleni Katsarou (Department of Primary Education, University of Crete; Member of the TALOS Steering Committee) participated in the 75th Annual Conference of the Literacy Research Association, held at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, from 3–6 December 2025.

Prof. Katsarou presented the paper “Unmasking the L1 Curriculum: AI-Powered Analysis for Evidence-Based Reform”, offering an innovative perspective on how Artificial Intelligence can support the systematic study and redesign of L1 curricula. Her contribution introduced methods for extracting and evaluating key structures in curriculum documents through NLP analysis, fostering data-driven curriculum reform and strengthening literacy education.

Her talk highlighted how digital tools and AI methodologies—central to TALOS AI4SSH—can enhance evidence-based research on curricula, and research-based decision-making in educational policy and practice. The session opened a broader conversation on the potential of AI to support educators, curriculum designers, and researchers working toward more equitable and effective literacy outcomes.
