We are delighted to share that Prof. Eleni Melina Tamiolaki, Professor at the University of Crete and Scientific Responsible of the TALOS-AI4SSH project, participated in the national conference “Humanities and Education in the 21st Century: Problems and Prospects”, held at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on September 26–27, 2025.
The conference, organized by the Association of Alumni of the Faculty of Philosophy of AUTH in collaboration with the Departments of Philology, History & Archaeology, and Philosophy & Education, brought together leading voices from academia and education to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by the Humanities in the contemporary era.
In her talk, titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Humanities: The Example of the TALOS Project”, Prof. Tamiolaki presented how TALOS leverages Artificial Intelligence to support and reimagine Humanities research and education. She highlighted the project’s interdisciplinary framework, the integration of AI with humanistic inquiry, and the broader societal value of fostering dialogue between technology and culture.
Through her contribution, Prof. Tamiolaki showcased TALOS as a model for bridging tradition and innovation, ensuring that Humanities remain vital, relevant, and forward-looking in the age of digital transformation.
