Crete Past and Present: Receptions of Crete Summer School (University of Crete | June, 2026) — AI & Classics hands-on session
The TALOS Lab announces its participation in the Summer School “Crete Past and Present: Receptions of Crete” (University of Crete, Rethymnon, 21–27 June 2026). The programme explores how Crete’s myths, landscapes, and literary traditions have been reimagined from antiquity to today, alongside visits to major archaeological and museum sites. TALOS contributes the half-day hands-on seminar “Looking for Europa (mal du pays)” (Dr Maria Papadopoulou & Rafail Giannadakis), introducing AI-assisted annotation, ontology modelling, and linked data workflows for FAIR outputs. TALOS Participation in Two-Day Seminar for Secondary Education Teachers (Heraklion)
TALOS members Prof. Eleni Katsarou and Rafail Giannadakis participated in a two-day seminar for secondary education teachers in Heraklion (9–10 Oct 2025), presenting on AI in education and curricula analysis, and AI/VR-AR for teaching antiquity. The event highlighted innovative, participatory practices aligned with the new curricula and strengthened ties between research and classroom practice.
Knowledge Modelling & Ontoterminologies Training for TALOS Interns
On August 7, 2025, TALOS Research Assistant Rafail Giannadakis led a training for the lab’s interns on knowledge modelling, ontologies, and the TEDI software, offering hands-on insights and practical skills as part of the TALOS Internship Program.
