Prof. Eleni Katsarou on AI and Education at Anatolia College (Thessaloniki)
On February 8, 2025, Anatolia College hosted the event “Creativity & Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities”, bringing together experts and educators to explore the intersection of AI and education. As part of this initiative, Prof. Eleni Katsarou, TALOS Board member and Professor of Curriculum Theories, delivered a compelling lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence and Education: Research, Teaching, and Literacy in AI.”
Her talk focused on the evolving role of AI in education, addressing three key questions:
🔹 How AI can enhance research in education and social sciences.
🔹 The potential of AI in teaching and assessment, particularly in humanities and social sciences.
🔹 The importance of AI literacy—understanding how AI affects our thinking, daily life, and decision-making.
Prof. Katsarou highlighted both the opportunities and challenges AI presents, emphasizing the need for critical engagement rather than passive adoption. Her insights contributed to a broader discussion on how technology can enrich learning while preserving the essential human element in education.
