On September 14, 2026, the TALOS AI4SSH Lab, represented by Evangelos Katis, visited the 1st Laboratory Center of Heraklion for a presentation and discussion on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and society.

The session explored how AI is increasingly shaping everyday life, with applications across a range of fields, including healthcare and smart mobility. Particular attention was given to the ways AI tools can support teachers in their daily work, offering new opportunities to enhance teaching practices and enrich the educational experience.

A central theme of the presentation was the importance of responsible AI use, ethical awareness, and meaningful human oversight in educational settings. As AI technologies continue to evolve, developing AI literacy and equipping educators with the knowledge and skills to use these tools critically and effectively are essential steps towards an informed and responsible approach to AI in education.

The discussion also highlighted opportunities for further collaboration and knowledge exchange through the TALOS AI4SSH project and the AI-Literacy TeacherAcademy, initiatives that aim to strengthen AI literacy and support educators in navigating the opportunities and challenges of AI.

The TALOS AI4SSH Lab warmly thanks the principal, organizers, and educators of the 1st Laboratory Center of Heraklion for the invitation, their active participation, and their valuable contribution to the dialogue on AI and the future of education.

Through initiatives like this, TALOS AI4SSH continues to promote dialogue, collaboration, and responsible engagement with AI, fostering a more informed and human-centered approach to its integration into education and society.
