
TALOS Visit to Stanford University: Discussions on AI in Education
The TALOS Lab is excited to report the successful visit of Professor Eleni Katsarou (University of Crete; Member of the TALOS Steering Committee) and Dr Konstantinos Sipitanos (Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Crete; External Collaborator of the TALOS Lab) to the Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE), which took place on 10–11 December 2025. The visit was hosted by Dr Víctor R. Lee, Associate Professor at Stanford GSE and Faculty Lead for AI + Education at the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, together with Christine Bywater, Associate Director at the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET).
Over the two-day visit, participants engaged in discussions focused on Artificial Intelligence in Education. Prof. Katsarou and Dr. Sipitanos presented their research on AI in education, facilitating an exchange of experiences and perspectives with participants from the DISTAL Lab, as well as members of Stanford GSE, CSET, and the Stanford Accelerator for Learning (SAL). The discussions addressed current research methodologies and pedagogical applications related to AI and learning.
The visit also included a tour of the AI Tinkery, offering insight into Stanford’s experimental learning environments. Overall, the meetings established groundwork for potential future collaboration between TALOS AI4SSH and Stanford University in the area of AI in education.
