ANGELINA MANOLA

Angelina Manola is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Philology at the University of Crete. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Philology at the University of Athens, specializing in Classical Philology (2020). She also holds her Master’s degree at the University of Athens, with a specialization in Ancient Greek Philology (2024).

Her primary research interests focus on ancient Mythology, with a particular emphasis on its representation and reception in various genres of ancient Greek and Latin literature, especially in historiographical and poetic works. She is interested in intertextual readings between ancient Greek works and their various Eastern or Western parallels. The focus of her recent research has been directed towards the analysis of pedagogical-didactic methodologies supported by digital tools.

The main focus of her doctoral research is the potential of digital media to enhance the teaching of ancient texts, with a broader aim of introducing of 12-15 year-old students to ancient literature. Her research focuses principally on Plutarch’s Lives.
