(Department of Philology, University of Crete, GREECE)Associate or Assistant Professor in Digital Humanities and Classical Philology
Description of the subject of the position
The subject of Digital Humanities and Classical Philology covers both the field of Classical Philology and the recent developments in the field of Digital Humanities. It focuses, on the one hand, on the teaching and research of ancient Greek and Latin literature from the Archaic period to the end of late antiquity and, on the other hand, on the application of digital methods and the critical use of digital tools, promoting the interconnection of the two fields (Classical Philology and Digital Humanities) at the level of education, research and practice, with a view to advancing the research questions of Classical Philology”.
The successful candidate is expected to have a leading role in all the activities of the TALOS Center (research, teaching, training, and attracting competitive funding). Through his/her interdisciplinary expertise and initiatives, he/she should contribute to the sustainability of the Center and to its thriving beyond the duration of the project.

Requirements:
a PhD in the field of the position and certified knowledge of Modern Greek are required.
